Local Attractions

All cottages offer easy access to the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and are ideal for exploring the renowned Peak District National Park. It is a wonderfully picturesque area for walking or cycling covering more than 550 sq. miles, with masses of open views and interesting walks to explore, there are more than 1,400 miles of public rights of way and many areas of the National Park are open to the public.

There are many ideal settings for a country picnic or a walk to enjoy the abundant wildlife. The Peak District offers some of the finest cycling, climbing, walking and caving in England.

You can visit Chatsworth House, Carsington Watersports centre, Crich Tramway Museum, Matlock and Matlock Bath – Derbyshire’s inland resort, the Heights of Abraham Cable cars and Chesterfield with it’s famous crooked spire. Good food is available locally and eating out is a real treat at the Region’s many cafes, bars or restaurants.

For the more energetic, Alton Towers, Gulliver’s Kingdom Theme Park, Buxton and the Manifold Valley are also within easy reach.

With the small bustling towns of Matlock, Ashbourne, Bakewell, a variety of Mill Shops and the Meadowhall shopping centre less than an hour away, spend a day browsing the shops.

There are also many local events in The Peak District including Country shows, Farmers Markets, Craft Fairs and Village Well Dressings – a traditional custom unique to Derbyshire. So whatever the time of year there is always a range of activities on offer in the Peak District.
